Desh to continue career at Lehigh
Liberty 2012 graduate and former Hurricane swimmer, Courtney Desh, will continue her swimming career at Lehigh University this fall.
Desh had also considered Lafayette and Bucknell, but in the end, Lehigh was the most natural fit.
"My sister went there, and I really just liked the whole team atmosphere. I just really clicked with my teammates, and the coach was really nice," said Desh.
Rob Herb will be entering his eighth season as head coach of the Mountain Hawks.
"He told me how much commitment it's going to be, how much improvement I'll make, and how much I'll have to balance my time between school and swimming," Desh said.
Desh will concentrate on three main events: the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 IM, while majoring in business.
"I can't wait to meet new friends and to challenge myself," she said.
In the meantime, Desh is grateful for her swimming career at Liberty, which helped her prepare for her future at Lehigh.
"Reik Faust was one of the best coaches I've ever been coached by, and he taught me a lot about leadership. Eric [Burcin] and I were captains last year. The coaches were great the whole time I swam there. I had a lot of good guidance," she said.
