FHS girls top Easton
Preparation and patience were the keys in Freedom's 54-49 victory over Easton last Friday.
"We had three days to prepare, and they did what we thought they would. They play kind of helter skelter," said Freedom coach Ron Garza.
With a first quarter score of 13-12, the Patriots took better control in the second quarter, and had a 30-22 lead by halftime.
"We were attacking their defense, finding open shots, and making good passes," said Freedom senior guard, Ashley Gordon, who had 13 points against the Red Rovers.
Kelly Rossette and Ashley Husser were also in double figures for the Patriots, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Easton attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, but fell short.
"They pressed us, so we had to be patient. It was a little crazy, and they got out of control," Gordon said.
Also last Friday, Bethlehem Catholic was victorious over Liberty, 47-19.
Top scorers for the Hawks were Kalista Walters, Bridget Smith, and Janelle Robinson. Smith also had ten rebounds, and Robinson had four steals.
Kali Shumock had 12 points for the Hurricanes.
