Liberty's senior night resulted in a 52-34 victory over Emmaus last Tuesday.

After a 21-16 Hurricane lead at the half, the Hornets threatened in the third quarter, pressing on defense and pulling to within one point.

"I think they played really good defense the whole game, but our guards handled it well," said senior, Maggie Zerbe, who had ten points on the night.

Liberty point guard, Kay West, opened the fourth quarter with two points, which started a scoring run for the Hurricanes. Torie Zerbe, Maggie Zerbe, Kali Shumock, and West combined for 11 straight points before the Hornets could score again.

"I think it started to hit us in the fourth quarter that this was an important game, and I think we just started attacking their defense. We started running our motion offense and got good looks at the basket," Maggie Zerbe said.

Shumock led the Hurricanes with 13 points, followed by West who had 11.

Also last week, Freedom defeated Whitehall, 39-30.

As has been typical for the Patriots this season, the third quarter proved to be the turning point, taking a 27-21 lead after having been down 8-2 after the first quarter and 17-14 at the half.

Ashley Gordon led Freedom in scoring with 15 points, followed by Brenna Dosedlo who had 11. Kelly Rosete scored eight points, Taylor Garza scored four points, and Tori McCaslin added one.

Freedom also defeated Dieruff last week, 42-29, making 2012-2013 the Patriots' winningest season in recent years.

This time, Dosedlo led the Patriots with 13 points, followed by Gordon who had ten.

Bethlehem Catholic remained undefeated with victories over Parkland, 55-39, and Emmaus, 63-14.
