Liberty boys need OT to advance

Liberty’s boys soccer team needed OT to get by Emmaus 2-1 in the East Penn Conference soccer playoffs.

Chase Tackett and Valentin Perevalov scored the Hurricane goals with Sammy Abiles and Trevor Koski adding assists in the victory.

The ’Canes advance to take on Pocono Mountain East on Tuesday, which is past Press deadlines. PME was a 1-0 winner over Allen. Liberty will play at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Valley.

In the other semifinal, Stroudsburg beat Central 1-0 and Parkland was a 4-0 winner over Northampton. Parkland-Stroudsburg at 5 p.m. at Pleasant Valley.

The finals are scheduled for Thursday.
