Peter M. Kladias, Owned M.P. Kladias & Son
Peter M. Kladias, 88, died July 29, 2017. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Michael P. and Sophia (Sotirakis) Kladias. He was the husband of the late Athena (Tsihlis) Kladias.
He was a 1947 graduate of Liberty HS and of Roosevelt Aviation School, where he trained to become an aircraft mechanic.
He was in the Air Force during the Korean War and serviced the Constellation, President Eisenhower’s plane.
He was a self-employed painting contractor and operated M.P. Kladias & Son for 60 years.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Bethlehem, where he was earlier on the parish council and the church building committee.
He was a past member of the Order of AHEPA Homer Chapter 65. Since the age of 12, he built model airplanes and speed competition model planes.
He is survived by a daughter, Dr. Sophia C. Kladias and her husband John N. Tsiouvaras of Coopersburg, who cared for him in their home; a son, Michael P. III of Pasadena, Md.; a sister, Helen K. and her husband Emanuel C. Bakis of Allentown.
He was predeceased by a brother, George M. Kladias; nieces; and nephews.
