Erwin Lewis Meitzler Jr., of Steel computer research

Erwin “Lew” Lewis Meitzler Jr., 79, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 28, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Erwin Lewis Sr. and Mary (McGeady) Meitzler. He was the husband of the late Bernadine (Janscak) Meitzler.

He attended Lafayette College.

He was an U.S. Navy veteran.

He worked in the computer research center at Bethlehem Steel or many years before he retired. Prior to that, he worked at the former Western Electric. After retiring, he was a starter at Whitetail Golf Course.

He was a golfer who scored five holes in one.

He is survived by a son, Mark L. of Bethlehem; a daughter, Kathryn and her husband Timothy Tinsley and their son Tyler of Nazareth; and a sister, Huberta Janscak.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Jeanne.
