Liberty and Bethlehem Catholic saw their field hockey seasons come to an end Monday afternoon in the District 11 semifinals.

The Hurricanes lost to Easton 1-0 thanks to a first half goal by Ellie McIntyre that stood up for the final.

The loss ends Liberty’s season at 19-4 after defeating Easton 4-1 in the season opener and 4-3 in the East Penn Conference semifinals, only to see their season go down in districts to the Rovers.

Monday’s defeat also kept them out of the state tournament, as both finalists advance to states this year. Easton will take on top-seeded Emmaus, a 2-0 winner over Pocono Mountain East, in Wednesday’s finals.

Bethlehem Catholic fell to top-seeded Moravian Academy 4-1 on Monday as well in the District 11 1A semifinals.

Cassie Romanczuk scored a hat trick in the win for Moravian.

Becahi finished 8-11, but registered a 2-1 playoff win over Northern Lehigh in their opener, as Dhaniella Mae Babelonia and Jaleesa Lanier each scored for the Hawks.

The EPC field hockey all stars were announced recently with Lanier (MF) and Liberty’s Olivia Sahaydak (F) and Rayne Wright (MF) making the first team. Liberty’s Eleni Prodes (F) and Freedom’s McKenzie Eisenreich (GK) made second team.
