Joan Marie Mazar, 64, of Bethlehem, died Nov. 7, 2017, in St. Luke’s Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. Born in Phillipsburg, N.J., she was a daughter of Joan F. (Castner) Turchuck of Bethlehem and the late John E. Lanning.

She worked for the former United Telephone Company, which later became Sprint and Embarq, for 40 years before retiring.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Jason and his wife Jessica Whiting of Roanoke, Va; two sisters, Jackie Greenleaf and Melody Higgins; two brothers, Jim Lanning and Herbert Grainer; and a grandson, George J. Whiting.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Jay, Jeffrey and John Lanning.
