The Bethlehem School Board welcomed a special guest at its Dec. 4 meeting. Northampton County President Judge Stephen G. Baratta was in attendance to swear in the newest members of the board.

One by one, Board President Michael Faccinetto, Director Rogelio Ortiz, Vice President Shannon Patrick and Director Angela Sinkler were called to raise their hand and take the oath. Each was asked to swear that they would perform their duties in compliance with the laws of the Commonwealth.

After performing the oaths, Judge Baratta watched as each director signed the required documentation and congratulated them on their position.

After the swearing in ceremony, the board appointed Director Craig Neiman as a temporary chairperson. Neiman requested nominations for the positions of president and vice president for next school year.

Current VP Patrick nominated Faccinetto to maintain his role as president, and Sinkler nominated current Patrick to maintain her role. Each nomination was put to a verbal vote and passed unanimously.

The result of the evening is that the overall composition of the school board shall remain the same for next school year.
