Richard C. Rutledge Sr., safety officer
Richard “Dick” C. Rutledge Sr., 86, of Bethlehem Township, died Nov. 25, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospice. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was a son of the late Bernice (Stevenson) and Charlie Lee Rutledge. He was the husband of Betty J. (Zawadski) Rutledge for 62 years.
He was a 1950 graduate of Scott High School, Toledo., Ohio. He attended the University of Toledo for one year.
He was in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He retired in 1997 from SKF Industries, where he was a safety officer and head of the shipping and receiving department. He was earlier a milkman and then the credit and distribution manager for Abbott’s Dairies, previously Suncrest Farms. He was a sales representative for Portion Pak Foods, Allentown.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Miller Heights, where he was a member of the Prime Time group.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Diana Lee and her husband Timothy Gaylor of Bethlehem Township; a son, Richard C. Jr. and his wife Karin (Walsh) of Washington, D.C.; two grandsons, Dustin Lee Rutledge and Nathaniel Rutledge; a brother, Jules and his wife Kathy Rutledge; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by four siblings, Bonnie, Charles W., Josie and Janice.
