TRADITIONS

Traditions of Hanover held a dedication of a military-themed bookcase on Nov. 11 at their 5300 Northgate Drive building.

The bookcase includes wartime and military-themed book selections, photos of residents who are veterans and other Items such as a resident’s donation of four steins representing different military branches.

Cathy Heimsoth, executive director, opened the ceremony, welcoming more than 50 attendees, including residents and staff members. Boy Scout Troop #318 shared poems and readings, and a trumpeter played taps.

The dedication included a plaque inscribed with a quote from Abraham Lincoln, which reads “ I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him.”
