LHS boys top Central

Liberty’s boys’ swim team hosted Allentown Central Catholic last Tuesday and defeated the Vikings 99-78 in their first meet of the season.

Jase Smith, Chris Chambers, Robert Negron, and Grant Smith swam to a first place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.73.

Jake Evert won the boys’ teams first individual event, the 200 freestyle, with a time of 1:50.21.

Yousef Ismail placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.93.

Negron won the 50 free with a time of 21.16 and the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.62.

In the diving event, Kellen Rogers came in second with a score of 179.60, Sergio Alvarez was third with a score of 120.05, and Patrick Adams placed fourth with a score of 71.0.

All three divers combined to score nine team points for the Hurricanes.

Jase Smith won the 100 free with a time of 54.46, and Chambers won the 500 free with a time of 5:26.81.

In the 200 free relay, Negron, Jase Smith, Ben Service, and Ryan Wycherley took first place with a time of 1:39.64.
