Boris Stoiancheff, steel engineer

Boris Stoiancheff, 88, of Allentown, died Dec. 28, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Steelton, he was a son of the late George and Constance (Taleff) Stoiancheff. He was the husband of Vera (Stojkovska) Stoiancheff for 57 years.

He graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University with a master’s degree in structural engineering.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a civil and structural engineer for Bethlehem Steel and for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia.

He was a member of St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church since 1960. Very active in the church, he was a past president of the Federated Russian Orthodox Club. He was a member of the Bethlehem Jaycees and of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Belinda and Maria; and a brother-in-law and sister, William and Mildred Trayer.
