LHS swimmers split

Liberty’s girls’ swim team was victorious over Nazareth last week, defeating the Blue Eagles 126-60, and Liberty’s boys lost to the Blue Eagles 95-91 last week at Nazareth.

In girls’ results, Anna Lehr, Natalie Richardson, Kay Wetmore, and Kendra Smith won the 200 medley relay in 1:56.44.

Lehr also won the 200 free in 2:04.02 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.40.

Samantha Taylor took first place in the 200 IM in 2:17.12, Wetmore won the 100 butterfly in 1:01.84 and the 500 free in 5:31.83, and Richardson came in first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.21.

In diving, Cara Kuykens took first place with a score of 200.35.

Richardson, Taylor, Smith, and Abby Mack won the 200 free relay in 1:43.76, and Taylor, Wetmore, Lehr, and Mack also won the 400 free relay in 3:52.28.

In boys’ results, the Hurricanes won all three relays.

Jake Evert, Chris Chambers, Robert Negron, and Jase Smith were first in the 200 medley relay in 1:37.23, Smith, Sam Capwell, Omar Mohammed, and Negron won the 200 free relay in 1:31.30, and Capwell, Chambers, Mohammed, and Evert placed first in the 400 free relay in 3:23.03.

Smith won the 50 free in 22.92, and Capwell placed second.

Chambers won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.07.

In the 100 fly, Negron was outtouched by Nazareth’s Gabe Laslo whose time was 52.85 and Negron’s was 53.08.
