Curtis Robert Frankenfield, steel department foreman

Curtis Robert Frankenfield, 89, of Bethlehem, died April 2, 2018, while in the care of Saucon Valley Manor. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Frankenfield. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Hildabrant) Frankenfield for 60 years.

He was in the United States Coast Guard.

He was a foreman in the Steam, Water and Air department at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 38 years. He was a volunteer fireman for 65 years and was the a former chief of the Bethlehem Township Station 17. Active with Boy Scout Troop #7, he was a 1964 recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of the former Bethlehem Steel Club, the Del-Hi Power Squadron and the North End Wanderers Athletic Association. He was a lifetime member of the Heights Athletic Association.

He is survived by a daughter, Peggy and her husband Ray Gencarelli of Bethlehem Township; three sons, Kurt and his wife Catherine of Allentown, Jeffrey and his wife Sallie of Hellertown and Frank and his wife Kelly of Allentown; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Bryan, Jarade, Jena, Rocky, Jack, Eric and Jason; and 12 great-grandchildren, Peyton, Jordan, Taylor, Jelissa, Jackson, Hudson, Harper, Liam, Noah, Ella Rose, Gavin and Lillian.

He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Richard Frankenfield.
