Wanderers aims for playoffs

Wednesday, June 13, 2018 by Peter Car pcar@tnonline.com in Sports

The Wanderers hope its blend of youth and experience can be a winning formula for them to improve upon last season’s 9-9 finish.

Dwight Pulieri returns to lead the squad and is excited about the potential of the group.

“Legion baseball is a long, short season if that makes any sense,” Pulieri said. “We have a nice blend of young quality players and varsity players. How we accept our roles will determine our success. Like all Legion teams depending on who is there, there could be a different lineup every night. Pitching depth is a strength, as we have 12 players with either JV or varsity experience.”

Back for the Wanderers include: David Bertolotti, 3B, Jack Borneman, C, Eli Lawsan, P/OF, Caleb Tereska, P/OF and Grant Hershman, P.

Some of the new faces this season are Justin Schmoyer, 2B, Gabe Rodriquez, P/OF, Brayden D’Amico, SS/P, Pat Mattes, P/1B, Stephen Super P/1B, Andrew Walker, P/2B and Wyatt Marshall, P/OF.

“Team goals are to compete every night and make the playoffs,” Pulieri said. “To accomplish this with players from all three Bethlehem high school’s we must accept our roles and play as a team.”

So far Wanderers is 3-0 on the season.
