William F. Sterner Sr., mail handler

William F. Sterner Sr., 79, of Bethlehem, died July 30, 2018, in his home. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Barbara (Schadler) and Roland Sterner. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Butkiewicz) Sterner for 58 years.

He was in the U.S. Army.

He was a mail handler for and retired from the U.S. Post Office. He also worked for Northeast Autobody.

He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He was with the Special Olympics, the MORA Club and the Handicapped Bowling League at Town and Country Bowling Lanes. He played fast pitch softball with the Ski Brothers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William and his wife Tracy of Virginia; a daughter, Debora Sterner of Bethlehem; two grandchildren, Noelle and Luke Sterner; and 10 brothers and sisters.
