FHS, LHS girls win

Freedom and Liberty’s girls’ cross country teams scored victories over Whitehall and Allentown Central Catholic last Tuesday during the Hurricanes’ home meet at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course.

Freedom’s Lauren Charboneau placed first in the girls race with a time of 19:03.

Liberty’s Greta Stuckey placed sixth with a time of 20:19, followed by teammates Belle Weikert in 20:21 and Grace Haas in 20:23. Emily Jobes came in 10th in 20:36, also for the Hurricanes.

Becahi’s Marcella Banvelos finished in 11th place in 20:42, Liberty’s Cami Bortz was 17th in 21:26, and Freedom’s Mary Sweeney placed 18th in 21:27.

In team results, Freedom’s girls defeated Central Catholic, 26-30 and Whitehall, 26-32, but lost to Emmaus, 20-41.

Liberty’s girls also fell to Emmaus, 27-30, but defeated Central, 20-38, and Whitehall, 22-37.

Becahi lost to Emmaus, 18-45, Central, 21-38, and Whitehall, 22-35.
