Tenors of our times: The Allentown Symphony Pops series presents “The Broadway Tenors: Ultimate Broadway,” 7:30 pm. Oct. 13, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown. Featured are Broadway show actors Brent Barrett (“Chicago”), Matt Cavenaugh (“West Side Story”) and Kyle Dean Massey (“Pippin”). Ronald Demkee, Pops Conductor, leads the symphony. The three tenors will sing songs from Broadway’s Golden Age. “Individually, each is a spectacular artist. Together, they present an infinite and kaleidoscopic range of musical possibilities ... The three talented tenors tantalized our sensibilities with beautifully rendered offerings from Broadway shows of the past century,” wrote the Capital Gazette. Bamford stands up: Maria Bamford presents her stand-up comedy show, 7 p.m. Oct. 14, Musikfest Café, ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks, Bethlehem. Bamford is the creator and star of “Maria Bamford: the special special special,” “Old Baby” and the web series, “The Maria Bamford Show.” She starred in the semi-autobiographical Netflix comedy series, “Lady Dynamite,” voices characters on animated TV series, and has a recurring role on ABC-TV’s “Fresh Off the Boat.” The show will contain adult language and-or situations. Hit after Hit: The Hit Men, a rock group with lots of musical chops and history, performs in concert, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13, State Theatre Cener for the Arts, Easton. The members of the group sang, played or recorded with Elton John, Carole King, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Carly Simon, Frankie Valli, Journey, The Rascals, Three Dog Night, The Turtles and The Who. The group performs songs of those with whom they’ve recorded and played, including “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Who Loves You?,” “Pinball Wizard” and “Joy to the World.” Plus, they’ll take you behind the scenes with “insider” stories about what it was like on the road and in the recording sessions with rock royalty.
