Sodexo vows to continue Backpack program
The December Bethlehem School Board meeting was perhaps one of the quickest meetings the district has seen in quite some time, with everyone eager to get back to their families.
In the holiday spirit of giving, there was one recognition called out. Sodexo School Services, who provides the school meals for BASD, took a moment to renew their annual pledge to the Backpack Pals program, which provides food for students facing hunger issues at home.
Anthony Kowalak, general manager of Sodexo School Services, was happy to present a check for $1,000 to Nikki Testa, program coordinator for Backpack Pals. This is just one of the numerous initiatives that Bethlehem has in place to help hunger challenged students in their district.
