Freedom’s boys’ swim team lost to Nazareth, 115-65, last Thursday at Freedom, but that won’t stop the Patriots from continuing to move forward through the season.

“I think we’ve made great improvements from the beginning of the season, and I think this year is going to be one of our peaks,” said Patriot senior Paras Chand.

Al Bell, Sahil Shah, Luke McClure, and Dominic Fresoli placed second for the Pates in the 200 medley relay in 1:50.76.

Bell won the 50 free in 21.87, Andrew Ehret came in second in the 200 free in 1:54.99, and Dylan Stahl was third in the 200 IM in 2:26.99.

Danny Connell placed second in the 100 free in 55.94, and Paras Chand was fourth in the same event with a time of 1:00.98.

“I’m continuously dropping time from my previous meets, and my flip turns are just overall better,” said Chand. “I’m reducing that extra drag by coming up in the water right away and taking a stroke, just smoothly transitioning.”

In the 500 free, Ehret placed second in 5:13.84.

Stahl, Connell, Ehret, and Chand came in second in the 200 free relay, and Ehret, Connell, Bell, and Stahl were third in the 400 free relay in 3:34.80.

“Sometimes I get uneasy if I go first or last, but seeing the other competitors, I felt more comfortable, and I have great teammates too, so it’s mixed feelings,” Chand said. “I like going first for the last event because it’s an easy ending to the whole thing.”

Bell placed third in the 100 backstroke in 53.99, and Shah won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.96.
