Evert sets two records

Liberty senior Jake Evert set two pool records during the Hurricanes’ 103-75 victory over the Konkrete Kids at Northampton last Thursday.

Evert’s time in the 100 free was 46.93, beating the previous Northampton pool record held by Michael Bauer whose time was 47.77 in 2017.

Evert and teammates Sam Capwell, Jonathan Drago, and Addison Collins also broke Northampton’s pool record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:30.70. The previous pool record of 1:30.75 was set in 2017 by Liberty, which included Evert.

Collins, Dylan Zukawski, Patrick Gilhool, and Drago opened Thursday’s meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay in 1:44.50.

Evert took first place in the 200 free in 1:48.88, Collins won the 200 IM in 2:08.96, and Drago won the 50 free in 23.40.

Gilhool placed first in the 100 butterfly in 58.96 and in the 100 backstroke in 58.18.

The Hurricanes scored major points with first, second, and third place finishes in the 50 free with Capwell second and Zukawski third, and the 100 free with Drago second and Capwell third.
