The Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade Committee, Inc. has announced that Phillip and Kimberly Ferguson are the 2019 King and Queen of the Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade.

Phillip and Kimberly Ferguson will be crowned the 2019 King and Queen of the Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade at the Coronation Dinner and Celebration, 7:30 p.m. March 15, Agri-Plex, Allentown Fairgrounds, 19th and Liberty streets, Allentown.

The Coronation ceremony takes place at 8:30 p.m. March 15. Admission includes a copy of the 2019 St. Patrick’s Parade Program Book, complimentary beer and soda. The event is BYOB. There is no cost for anyone under 21. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The 62nd annual Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade departs from the Allentown Fairgrounds at 1:30 p.m. March 17.

Phil and Kim are parishioners at St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Parish, Catasauqua.

The Fergusons said they are thrilled and honored to have been selected as King and Queen of 2019 Allentown St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Phil’s parents, Patrick and Marian Ferguson, were King and Queen in 1991, and Phil’s brother and sister-in-law, Sean and Wendy Ferguson, were King and Queen in 2010.

Phil’s Irish roots run deep, and he has traveled to Ireland many times with Kim and family, but nothing compares to the last trip with his father in 2015 when they were able to connect with family in County Mayo. There, he learned about his family history, going back to his great-great- grandfather.

Phil, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Hogan’s Social Club, has been active on the Parade Committee since he was a teenager, and is Vice-President-Operations Director.

Kim, also of Irish descent, was born in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth. She is an active Parade Committee volunteer who has not missed a parade in 18 years.

When they married eight years ago, Phil became stepfather to Kim’s children.

Jessica and her husband, Jeff Hudak, are teachers, working toward masters degrees. They reside in Quakertown with their silky terrier, Donatello.

Nathan is a junior, majoring in Finance with a Political Science minor at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park. This summer he plans to work at UBS Group AG, New York City, as an Incoming Investment Banking Summer Analyst.

Kim, a graduate of Nazareth High School, is Office Manager, Ian D. Webb Insurance. Kim was a youth Cheerleading Coach and Treasurer for CYCA when Jessica was in school.

Phil, a William Allen High School graduate, works at KidsPeace. He is a former route-sales manager for Stroehmann and Frito Lay. He coached CYAA and Connie Mack baseball for many years and was Operations Director for the Allentown Flag Day Association and several military parades.
