Area represented in all-star games, Big 33
Bethlehem will be well represented when the Big 33 football game takes place on Memorial Day weekend this year.
The Pennsylvania squad will feature five players from District 11, three of which are from Bethlehem Catholic, as the game will be played at 2 p.m. on May 27 at Central Dauphin High School.
Golden Hawk linemen Dalton Daddona and Elias Marte will be joined by kicker Anthony DaSilva, as the trio representing Becahi.
Freedom linebacker Tristan Wheeler and Saucon Valley offensive lineman Tim Weaver are also on the squad, giving Bethlehem four players on the team this year when they take on Maryland in the 62nd edition of the game.
The Pennsylvania State Football Coaches Association East-West game also features a local mix of five players from the area, three from Bethlehem as well.
Liberty running back Nasir Legree and defensive end Trevor Harris, as well as Bethlehem Catholic linebacker Paul Carreras, will represent the East team. Emmaus defensive back Izaiah McPherson and Nazareth tight end Nick Viva are also on the squad.
