McNEill REAL ID program set for May 8

There will be a Real ID information program at 6 p.m. May 8 at the Hanover Township Fire Company (Lehigh County), 1001 Postal Road, Allentown, Pa 18109. It is open to the public and no reservations are needed.

The event, with PennDOT officials and event host State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, will focus on obtaining a federally compliant Real ID from the Department of Transportation.

The optional REAL IDs are available through the mail, online and in person at certain PennDOT offices through Oct. 1, 2020. As of Oct. 2, 2020, a Real ID compliant license or ID card, or a U.S. Passport or military ID, will be necessary to board a domestic commercial flight or to enter a secure federal facility. A Real ID compliant driver’s license has enhanced security features required by federal legislation.
