Under the big tent: Cirque du Soleil’s Big Top returns for “Amaluna” July 24-Aug. 25, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Avenue, Oaks, Montgomery County. The show, said to be “a celebration of women,” is created and directed by Tony Award-winning Diana Paulus. The storyline is inspired by Greek and Norse mythology, Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.” The large-scale production has a cast mostly of female artists, including Alix Croop of Allentown, who trained at the Parkettes Gymnastic Training Center, Allentown.
