Pete’s Top-10: Nazareth Special gives Blue Eagles gold
For the first time ever, I didn’t get one pick right in last week’s edition. Truly a Haley’s Comet moment, but also a great week for all three winners last week, as Nazareth’s victory over Parkland will always be remembered by the Blue Eagle faithful for their Nazareth special.
Pottsville proved that they are no joke, as they head into the state tournament and Southern Lehigh dismantled Oil City 41-0 in their state playoff game.
What can all three teams do this week?
Hopefully, I have better luck this time around.
1. Nazareth (12-1)
Last week’s rank: #1
Coming off an emotional high in the win over Parkland, Nazareth has to refocus for St. Joe’s Prep. This might be too much to handle for the Blue Eagles, but they certainly are more battle tested than their Philly counterparts.
The Pick: St. Joe’s Prep 35 - Nazareth 17
2. Parkland (10-3)
Last week’s rank: #2
Great year by the Trojans to come back from early struggles, but this program is about winning titles and they fell short.
3. Freedom (10-2)
4. Central Catholic (8-5)
Last week’s rank: #4
Wow, was I wrong on this one last week.
5. Northwestern (10-2)
6. Bethlehem Catholic (7-5)
7. Easton (7-5)
8. Northampton (9-2)
9. Emmaus (6-5)
10. Southern Lehigh (12-1)
Last week’s rank: #10
I may have been wrong about the Spartans losing to Oil City, but there is absolutely no way on this planet they beat Archbishop Wood this week. Right?
The Pick: Archbishop Wood 42 - Southern Lehigh 14
Last week’s record: 0-3
Overall record: 73-17
