Becahi girls poised for another big year
Bethlehem Catholic’s girls’ basketball roster is complete, returning most starters from its 2018-2019 state championship season.
It includes seniors Isabelle Rosario (G), Jaleesa Lanier (G), Kamryn Williamson (G/F), O’neviah Scott (F), Abigail Brown (C/F), and Taliyah Medina (G/F) who is returning from an ACL injury in June 2018.
Also on the Hawks’ roster are juniors Kelby McNally (G), Lauren Alia (F), and Emily Sekerak (F), and sophomores Keyara Walters (G), Kourtney Wilson (G), Cydney Stanton (G), and Stephanie Donato (G).
The Hawks’ summer was highlighted by AAU, unofficial college visits, and training at Coordinated Health.
While head coach Jose Medina is pleased with the team’s chemistry, versatility, and speed, he is still looking to better define team roles for all players.
“We keep the same standards of winning,” Medina said. “Our staff comes alongside our players in providing the supports and services to help our players accomplish their individual and team goals. Now it’s a matter of executing those goals.”
The Hawks had some preseason opportunities at a tournament at Kutztown University and at the Ball Beyond Tournament, featuring Philadelphia Catholic and PIAA state qualifying 6A opponents.
On Dec. 10, Becahi will host Freedom in their season opener.
