Board considers three proposals
Three properties were on the agenda during the Historic Conservation Commission meeting Dec. 16.
First up was 702 East Fourth St., site of the Antillana Meet Market. The owner of the market was proposing to install an awning across the front of the store and around to the side of the building. Four designs were submitted, but were not to scale. At issue was a cornice on the front of the building, which the submitted designs would hide. The commission tabled the discussion, and asked for revised designs to be submitted the following month.
Next came the property at 321 Adams St., The Brinker Lofts. The owner, Bethlehem Addams, LLC, proposed installing a gate to allow access from the courtyard area to the Greenway. A lively discussion of the style and height of posts ensued. The gate was approved, with the final design to be shown to two commission members.
The final property was 202 East Third St., Webster Place. The proposal was to add a two story rear addition, replacing a one story addition that had been previously demolished. After a discussion of the masonry, windows, and daylight modifications, the addition was approved, pending commission approval of the masonry color.
