Sales of houses in the Lehigh Valley declined as the summer selling season ended.
Closed sales decreased 3.5 percent in September to 697 houses sold, compared to 722 houses sold in September 2016, according to the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors (GLVR) monthly report.
For the year to date, closed sales increased 4.2 percent, to 6,322, compared to 6,065 for the year to date in 2016.
On a positive note, pending sales increased 12.5 percent in September to 739, compared to 657 in September 2016.
St. Luke’s University Health Network has added a therapeutic component, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to its Partial Hospitalization Program-Innovations, an outpatient group therapy program for those struggling with depression, anxiety, stress issues and other mental-health challenges.
Music therapy uses listening, singing and playing music and musical instruments to improve and maintain a patient’s mental health. Music therapy groups focus on the four main components of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Sacred Heart HealthCare System has announced that as of Oct. 10, Sacred Heart Hospital, 421 Chew St., Allentown, will no longer offer labor and delivery services.
Obstetrics services will be “delivered” through a new collaboration with St. Luke’s University Health Network.
Through this collaboration, there is only one change: mothers-to-be can deliver their babies at St. Luke’s Hospital - Allentown Campus, 1736 Hamilton St., Allentown, which is less than two miles from Sacred Heart Hospital.
