KidsPeace has named Thespina Godshalk, M.S., LPC, as Director of TeenCentral.

Godshalk will manage the organization’s web-based counseling resource for teens, TeenCentral.Net.

She will manage KidsPeace’s activities to redesign and relaunch the two sites in Spring 2017, and to promote their benefits.

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) has again been named a “Military-Friendly School” by Victory Media, publisher of GI Jobs Magazine.

LCCC provides resources and support services to more than 300 active military and veteran students attending college, including a veterans’ lounges at the Schnecksville and Tamaqua campuses.

St. Luke’s University Health Network has received another three-year Accreditation with Commendation as an Integrated Network Cancer Program (INCP) from the Commission on Cancer of the Chicago-based American College of Surgeons (CoC). The Network also received Accreditation with Commendation in 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013.

St. Luke’s University Health Network has announced that Jamie L. Thomas, DO, has been named Vice President of Medical Affairs at the St. Luke’s Hospital - Warren Campus.

Dr. Thomas will focus on medical staff relationships, the quality and efficiency of clinical operations, patient experiences and clinical programming opportunities.

December LV house sales down 3.5 percent; house sales increase 7.2 percent for 2016

The housing market in the Lehigh Valley ended the year 2016 on a down note, with closed sales declining 3.5 percent in December to 601, compared to 623 in December 2015.

The December 2016 and 2016 statistics were released Jan. 12 by the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors (GLVR).

For the year-to-date, 2016, closed sales increased 7.2 percent to 7,876 from 7,349 in 2015.

Pending sales also declined in December, down 5 percent to 457, compared to 481 in December 2015.
