I sat back in my patio chair and prepared to watch a war staged between two little boys, my son and his look alike best friend. A friend he had had since 3-year-old preschool. The one who he had such a symbiotic relationship with it often seemed like they were two parts of a whole.
And, yet, I was sitting back and letting them fight.
The L.V. Health Network will hold marathons and a walk to benefit VIA on Sept. 8 and 9 from Allentown to Easton via Bethlehem.
There will be family fun walks and other events beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 8 at the ArtsQuest Center, 101 Founders Way.
The race opening ceremonies and marathons begin at 6:40 a.m. at L.V. Hospital, Cedar Crest and I-78, Allentown, on Sept. 9.

Maxwell George "Max" Schneider opens for Victoria Justice, 7 p.m. Aug. 30, Fairgrounds Grandstand, Allentown Fair. Schneider, born June 21, 1992, grew up in Woodstock and Manhattan, N.Y. He is a singer, dancer, actor, model and musician. His latest TV show is "How To Rock," where he plays Zander, a musician. He also starred in the original movie, "Rags," on Nickelodeon.
