Northampton Borough currently has a full-time Police Department with eleven full-time officers and three part-time officers serving a community of approximately 10,000 residents in a three square mile area. This will be a non civil service position. The candidate must be Act 120 certified and have MPOETC certification or be MPOETC eligible, with a minimum of 10 years' police experience and 3 years of command/supervisory experience. At the start date, the Chief of Police must live within 10 miles of the Borough. PUBLIC NOTICE DOCUMENT 00 10 00 INVITATION TO BID Sealed Bid Proposals will be received in triplicate by East Allen Township, Northampton County, PA for the Dogwood Road Culvert Replacement project on Dogwood Road in East Allen Township. Bid Proposals should be forwarded to East Allen Township, 5344 Nor-Bath Boulevard, Northampton, PA 18067-9063, prior to 12:00 noon prevailing time on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Bid Proposals will be opened at that time at the East Allen Township Municipal Building and publicly read aloud by a representative of the Township. Final questions are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017. The project consists of the removal of the existing concrete culvert and installation of 30 LF of 57" x 38" Aluminized Steel Pipe-Arch with end treatments to replace existing pipe. Work also includes tree removal, removing and replacing existing roadway pavement and installing miscellaneous erosion and sediment control facilities. Specific requirements for bidding and construction work are described in the Project Manual available to all Bidders. All Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Engineer. The Project Manual, including Construction Plans and Bid Form, is available at Hanover Engineering Associates, Inc, 252 Brodhead Road, Suite 100, Bethlehem, PA 18017, during regular business hours. A non-refundable fee of $25.00 shall be paid for each set of documents; checks payable to "Hanover Engineering Associates, Inc." Each proposal shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the required form, certified check, bank cashier's check, or other security acceptable, to the Owner in the amount of 10% of the total Base Bid. Bids will be effective for 60 calendar days from the Bid opening date except as permitted by law, and may not be withdrawn during this period. This project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. This Project is subject to the Federal Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970 (OSHA) conditions. This Project is subject to Pennsylvania Act 287 of 1974, as amended by Act 172 of 1986, as amended by Act 38 of 1991, as amended by Act 187 of 1996.
