Having left his sleigh with the reindeer on a nearby roof, Santa made his way to Tranquillity Park, greeting surprised travelers as they drove past. Several guests commented that for a legendary fat guy, Santa looked exceptionally thin. He explained that he has been working very hard to get all the presents ready.

While the weather was cold, the approximately 35 attendees brought a good deal of holiday warmth to the annual Southside tree lighting Dec. 7 at Tranquility Park. Among them were gentlemen dressed as the Three Kings.
