Personal protection devices donations needed

During the coronavirus (COVID-19) health emergency, personal protective equipment (PPE) is in critical supply. Face masks, a needed type of PPE, help protect health care providers and other non-clinical health care workers from droplets that may be expelled by a cough or sneeze as they interact with people seeking care.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking the community’s help to sew face masks for LVHN.

St. Luke’s Health Network

SLUHN receives Civica Rx drug shipment

St. Luke’s University Health Network received its first shipment of injectable drugs from Civica Rx, a nationwide consortium the Network joined last year to combat chronic shortages and rising prices of widely used generic medications.

Civica Rx is a nonprofit generic drug company that aims to circumvent traditional supply chains by producing in-demand drugs and selling them at fair and sustainable prices to consortium members.

BETHLEHEM City tax deadline extended

Bethlehem Mayor Bob Donchez announced March 24 that the City is extending the deadline for paying earned income tax and business privilege tax to July 15, 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

City of Bethlehem 2020 real estate taxes paid or postmarked before May 11, 2020, will be eligible for the two per cent discount. The full payment due date is be extended from May 29, 2020, to August 10, 2020.
