Clifford "Old Man" J. Babin Jr., 67, died Sept. 5, 2012, along with his mother, Gertrude "Grammy" M. Babin, 88, of Bethlehem, after a motor vehicle accident. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Clifford J. Babin Sr. and Gertrude M. (Wetzel) Babin. He was the husband of Meredith H. (Heller) Babin of Bethlehem.
He was retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he was a crane operator. He owned and operated Cliff's Rollback Service.
June E. Schortz, 67, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 4, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Ruhe) Shannon. She was the wife of William F. Schortz.
She was retired from the Bethlehem Area School District, where she worked in child care.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. and her husband Nicholas Stout and their children, Sebastian and Mikayla, all of Bethlehem.

Curtis W. Richter, 42, of Allentown, died unexpectedly Sept. 5, 2012. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of Joseph R. and Diane M. (Narolesky) Richter of Bethlehem.
He was a 1988 graduate of Salisbury HS.
He was in the Marine Corps Reserve.
An artist and tattooist, he was the owner and operator of Art N Soul Studios, Allentown. Prior to that, he was a crisis counselor for KidsPeace.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Vivian Curzi; an aunt, Felecia and her husband Thomas Fliszar; and an uncle, Brian Duda.
Earl W. Dredge, 83, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 26, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Teresa E. (Beckert) and Earl M. Dredge. He was the husband of Lucille (Lawrence) Dredge for 58 years.
He was a graduate of Fountain Hill HS.
He was in the U.S. Army in the infantry during the Korean War.
Marie B. Cavote, 88, of Bethlehem. died on Sept. 3, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Joseph G. and Mary E. (Guman) Begany. She was the wife of Joseph A. Cavote of Bethlehem for 61 years.
She was a member of the former Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir.
She was a member of the Catholic Sokols Wreath #32 and of the Legion of Mary. She was a member of the Tatra folk group and dancers.
Gertrude "Grammy" M. Babin, 88, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 5, 2012, along with her son Clifford "Old Man" J. Babin Jr., 67, after a motor vehicle accident. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late George and Helen (Lynch) Wetzel. She was the wife of the late Clifford J. Babin Sr.
She was a seamstress for the former Josette Manufacturing.
She was a member of the Ladies Garment Association.
Rose Mary (Boyle) Young, 87, of Bethlehem, Sept. 8, 2012 at Gracedale in Nazareth. Born in Sugar Notch, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Watters) Boyle. She was the wife of the late Daniel Joseph Young for 64 years.
She was a business teacher at Notre Dame HS from 1964 to 1989. After retiring, she was a substitute teacher and tutor.
She was a founding member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem Township.
Helen G. Beck, 93, of Bethlehem died Sept. 5, 2012, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Steven and Rose (Moyzan) Reszek. She was the wife of the late Herman W. Beck.
She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
She is survived by a son, Gerald of Bethlehem.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph, Steven, George, Frank and William Reszek; and three sisters, Anna Yelak, Teresa Reszek and Mary Ellwanger.

Phyllis A. Bambu, 70, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 29, 2012 at her residence. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Maio) Szoke and Robert C. Brueningsen. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Bambu.
She was a licensed practical nurse and worked most recently at Holy Family Manor Villa.
She is survived by her sons, David A. and his wife Kelly of Hellertown and Joseph Scott and his wife Shea of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Kyle and Brynn; a sister, Roberta Carraghan; and mother-in-law, Jennie A. Bambu.
William "Bill" H. Gainer, 75, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 1, 2012. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late William and Maizie (Hewitt) Gainer. He was the husband of Elizabeth Romig-Gainer and of the late Carol Gainer.
He graduated from Liberty HS.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a Bethlehem Police Department street sergeant for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He also was a corrections officer for the Northampton County Prison.
He was associated with Fritz Memorial United Methodist Church.
