Walter Beilfuss, 78, of Bethlehem Township, died Aug. 6, 2012, in his home. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Maybelle (Heydorn) and Walter G. Beilfuss. He was the husband of Jeanette Beilfuss and the late Joan Beilfuss.

He was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a pipefitter and mechanic for many companies, such as Rohm and Haas Chemical Company, Zenith Electronics, Gould Brown Boveri (ITE), Solid State Scientific, Inc., American Electronic Laboratories, Deja-Vu Mechanicals, Ford Electronics and Refrigeration and A-Treat Bottling Company.

James Arthur Lunger, 60, of Parryville, died Aug. 15, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Jean E. (Boyer) Gross and the late James Bernard Lunger.

While attending Liberty HS, and also at the Northwest Swimming Club, Bethlehem, he was a champion diver.

He was in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973 during the Vietnam era.

He was the head custodian for the Bethlehem Area School District.

Shirley A. Lindgren, 77, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 22, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill. Born in Mesa, Ariz., she was a daughter of the late Merlin O. and Josephine (Haley) Tryon.

She was the wife of J. Ralph Lindgren for 53 years. She attended Brigham Young University and Lake Forest College, Chicago.

She was an executive secretary for Easter Seals, retiring in 1997. She was a Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) board member from 1981-1985.

Mildred H. Wilcox

Mildred H. Wilcox, 80, formerly of Bethlehem Township and a resident of Alexandria Manor, Bath, died Aug. 12, 2012. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Yurko) Farkas. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Wilcox for 55 years.

She was a secretary at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

She is survived by three sons, Timothy R. of Palmer Township, Mark S. of Bethlehem Township and Terry L. of Pleasant Gap; and four grandchildren.

Mary M. Bees, 85, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 16, 2012. She was the wife of the late Fred Bees.

She was a teacher, primarily in the Allentown School District, for many years before retiring.

She was a member of Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem.

She is survived by two sons, David A. and his wife Diane Herber of Millersville and Thomas H. and his wife Connie Herber of Port Angeles, Wash.; two sisters, Marian Mitchell of Yardley and Nina Page of Raleigh, N.C.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Malvina Sarik , 89, of Bethlehem, died, Aug. 11, 2012, in Moravian Village. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia Sarik.

She was a 1941 graduate of Liberty HS.

She was a secretary in the Purchasing Department of the Bethlehem Steel Company for 31 years before retiring in 1982.

She was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, and belonged to the church's Ladies Aid group.

She is survived by two brothers, Milan of Sarasota, Fla. and John of Bethlehem Township; nieces; and nephews.

Francis Szabo

Francis Szabo, 90, formerly of Freemansburg and a resident of Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Fountain Hill, died Aug. 10, 2012. He was a son of the late Vendal and Julianna (Kovacs) Szabo. He was the husband of the late Rose Mary (Kerchner) Szabo.

He was a 1939 graduate of Bethlehem HS, now Liberty HS.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.

In 1981 he was a foundry foreman at and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 42 years.

Elva June (Knauss) Stocker, 89, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospice House. Born in Chapmans, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ellen Jane (Messer) Knauss. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Stocker.

She was a 1941 graduate of Liberty HS.

She was a waitress at Saucon Valley Country Club and at the Pilots Club.

She was a member of Christ Church U.C.C. for 65 years, and was a member of the peanut makers at church.

She was honored by the state for voting in 50 consecutive elections.
