John W. Knox Jr., 84, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 7, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice, Allentown. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John E. Sr. and Katherine (Marraccini) Knox. He was the husband of Patricia S. (Swift) Knox for 55 years.
He attended California State College and Penn State University.
He was in the U.S. Army at the conclusion of World War II.
He worked for Sinclair Refining Company and Swann Oil Company, and later, Herceg Hauling for many years.
Robert "Joe" J. Steininger, 84, of Bethlehem, died July 27, 2012 at Kirkland Village, Bethlehem. He was the son of the late Herbert and Margaret Steininger. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Loftus) Steininger for 43 years.
He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kansas.
He was an electrical engineer for Western Electric/Lucent Technologies and then for Bi-Tronics.
He was a ham radio operator.
He is survived by a stepson, John Simchak of Bethlehem.

Anna T. Nickles, 65, of Bethlehem, died July 22, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Wallace H. and Rose L. (Dunnevant) Heft. She was the wife of Rudolph R. Nickles for 19 years.
She was a graduate of Liberty HS.
She retired from Kraft Foods.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna-Marie and her husband John H. Bryk Jr. of Whitehall and Patricia and her husband Anthony Tocci of Newburgh, Maine; three grandchildren, Kayla, Sarah and Emily; and a sister, Nancy L. Mory of Allentown.
Beatrice "Dolly" A. Unger, 82, formerly of Zephyrhills, Fla., died Aug. 3, 2012, at ManorCare, Bethlehem. Born in Freemansburg, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Bertha (Keiser) Bender. She was the wife of the late Royal A. Unger.
She was a 1947 graduate of Liberty HS.
She played trumpet and drums as a member of the Swingettes, an all girl orchestra in the 1950s.
She was a former member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
She was a former treasurer of the North West Little League in the 1960s and a volunteer at the refreshment stand.
Joseph L. McLaughlin, 74, of Bethlehem, died July 26, 2012, having battled multiple myeloma for seven years. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Edith (Jones) McLaughlin. He was the husband of Sylvia (Bogdan) McLaughlin for 48 years.
He graduated from Reading Central Catholic HS and earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University.
Elmer A. Parton, 87, of Bethlehem, died July 31, 2012. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Elmer and Florence (Ziegler) Parton. He was the husband of Lorraine (Pfeffer) Reiser Parton for 17 years. and of the late Anna (Romanick) Parton.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was with the 291st Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II.
He was a carpenter for Bethlehem Steel for many years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Edna L. Meixell, 102, formerly of Bethlehem, died July 17, 2012, at Gracedale, Nazareth. She was the wife of the late Milo D. Meixell and the late Louis E.J. Harris.
Born in Swoyerville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mabel (Stull) Keiper.
She was a member of Edgeboro Moravian Church, Bethlehem.
She was a member of the Garden Club, the Women's Club of Bethlehem, the Gourmet Club, the Bridge Club and the Women of Lehigh.
James Lamarr Kelshaw Sr., 65, of Bethlehem, died July 31, 2012. Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Lionel and Grace (Munro) Kelshaw. He was the husband of Kathleen (McCarthy) Kelshaw for 42 years.
He retired from the Mack Printing Group after 22 years as a bindery worker. Prior to that, he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for nine years. He was a PIAA girls basketball referee for 16 years.
He was a member of the Jeffs, Wanderers and Heights A.A.
Donna May (Fluck) Weierbach, 53, of Slatington, died Aug. 1, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Cedar Crest. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of Mary and Carl Fluck Sr. of Bethlehem. She was the wife of Wade Weierbach for 7 years.
She was a dietician at Phoebe Home, Allentown, and was a senior consultant for Pampered Chef. She was co-owner of the Redneck Ranch.
Wallace F. Karp, 86, of Bethlehem, died July 30, 2012, in his residence at Traditions of Hanover. Born in Newark, N.J., he was a son of the late Wallace J. and Mary (Kniffin) Karp. He was the husband of Doris (Collins) Karp for 60 years.
He earned a master's degree in technical education.
He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radio operator in Newfoundland.
