Marie B. Cavote, 88, of Bethlehem. died on Sept. 3, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Joseph G. and Mary E. (Guman) Begany. She was the wife of Joseph A. Cavote of Bethlehem for 61 years.
She was a member of the former Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir.
She was a member of the Catholic Sokols Wreath #32 and of the Legion of Mary. She was a member of the Tatra folk group and dancers.
Gertrude "Grammy" M. Babin, 88, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 5, 2012, along with her son Clifford "Old Man" J. Babin Jr., 67, after a motor vehicle accident. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late George and Helen (Lynch) Wetzel. She was the wife of the late Clifford J. Babin Sr.
She was a seamstress for the former Josette Manufacturing.
She was a member of the Ladies Garment Association.
Rose Mary (Boyle) Young, 87, of Bethlehem, Sept. 8, 2012 at Gracedale in Nazareth. Born in Sugar Notch, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Watters) Boyle. She was the wife of the late Daniel Joseph Young for 64 years.
She was a business teacher at Notre Dame HS from 1964 to 1989. After retiring, she was a substitute teacher and tutor.
She was a founding member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem Township.
Helen G. Beck, 93, of Bethlehem died Sept. 5, 2012, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Steven and Rose (Moyzan) Reszek. She was the wife of the late Herman W. Beck.
She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
She is survived by a son, Gerald of Bethlehem.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph, Steven, George, Frank and William Reszek; and three sisters, Anna Yelak, Teresa Reszek and Mary Ellwanger.

Phyllis A. Bambu, 70, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 29, 2012 at her residence. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Maio) Szoke and Robert C. Brueningsen. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Bambu.
She was a licensed practical nurse and worked most recently at Holy Family Manor Villa.
She is survived by her sons, David A. and his wife Kelly of Hellertown and Joseph Scott and his wife Shea of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Kyle and Brynn; a sister, Roberta Carraghan; and mother-in-law, Jennie A. Bambu.
William "Bill" H. Gainer, 75, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 1, 2012. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late William and Maizie (Hewitt) Gainer. He was the husband of Elizabeth Romig-Gainer and of the late Carol Gainer.
He graduated from Liberty HS.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a Bethlehem Police Department street sergeant for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He also was a corrections officer for the Northampton County Prison.
He was associated with Fritz Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mary "Aunt Mary/ Mare" L. Townsend, 81, died Aug. 31, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospice House. Born in Bath, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Grace (Hutchinson) Townsend.
She was employed by Western Electric and Lucent before retiring in 1987 after 30 years.
She was a member of the Jollyettes Bowling League, Grover Cleveland and Jefferson Democratic clubs, Austrian Hungarian Club, Bethlehem Volunteer Fireman's Home Association and the Eagles.
Elizabeth "Betty" M. Crowell, 93, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 31, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late Davis Crowell.
Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late James and Helen (Goerlich) Venninger.
She was a 1938 graduate of Liberty HS.
She was a WAVE (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where she was an aviation machinist's mate.
She later worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation as a supervisor in the facsimile and communications department, retiring in 1979.
Michael S. Anthony, 94, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 31, 2012, at Alexandria Manor, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late George J. and Mary Anne (Bruno) Anthony. He was the husband of the late Mary T. R. Anthony for 62 years.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel, retiring after 43 years.
Barbara A. White 63, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 28, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late John F. Sr. and Mary (McQuay) Mackaravitz. She was the wife of Richard J. White for 46 years.
She was a production wirer for Eaton-Cutler Hammer for 20 years.
