Max "Mike" Manto, 91, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 16, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Joan Manto for 58 years.
He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was an auctioneer and owned several retail stores in Bethlehem and Allentown. He and his wife were in the outdoor amusement business.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers' Association and the Pennsylvania State Showman's Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and two brothers.
Domenic M. Morano, 74, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 18, 2012, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Vincent C. and Rose (Petrucella) Morano. He was the husband of the late Marie E. Morano.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel as the head of the corporate travel division. After retiring from Bethlehem Steel, he worked in Manhattan in the advertising business until retiring.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Matthew and Christopher Matthew; a daughter, Lisa Marie Morano; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor and Lauren.
Valentina "Dona Tina" Rivera, 96, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 8, 2012, at her residence. Born in Corozal, Puerto Rico, she was the oldest child of Juan and Monica (Vasquez) Rivera. She was the wife of the late Francisco "Pancho" Rivera.
She retired from Schobel Brothers Tie Factory.
She was a parishioner of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, where she assisted in the formation of the Daughters of Mary and was one of the first members of the Sacred Heart Auxiliary Group at the church.
Eleanor D. Wargo, of Hanover Township, died Aug. 11, 2012. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late John and Emma (Gregory) Wargo.
She was a model for the Breck Shampoo Company and was one of the first "Breck Girls." She then worked for Brooks Modeling Agency on the west coast and for the Hess's Department Store as a model for Mrs. Hess. She worked in administrative assistant capacities for Private Industry Council of the Lehigh Valley Inc. for 30 years.
She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians R. C. Church, Allentown.
Randy L. Skinner, 64, of Bethlehem died Aug. 14, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. Born in Honesdale, he was a son of the late Raymond N. Skinner and Dolores (Brill) Skinner of Honesdale. He was the husband of Suzanne M. (Wagner) Skinner for 29 years.
He was in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam era. He received the Good Conduct medal.
He worked for the former Western Electric and was retired from Verizon.
He was a member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the NRA.
Walter Beilfuss, 78, of Bethlehem Township, died Aug. 6, 2012, in his home. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Maybelle (Heydorn) and Walter G. Beilfuss. He was the husband of Jeanette Beilfuss and the late Joan Beilfuss.
He was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a pipefitter and mechanic for many companies, such as Rohm and Haas Chemical Company, Zenith Electronics, Gould Brown Boveri (ITE), Solid State Scientific, Inc., American Electronic Laboratories, Deja-Vu Mechanicals, Ford Electronics and Refrigeration and A-Treat Bottling Company.
Edna C. Traupman, 86, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 19, 2012, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Catherine Halbriner. She was the wife of Rudolph F. Traupman for 66 years.
She was a Liberty HS graduate
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
James Arthur Lunger, 60, of Parryville, died Aug. 15, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Jean E. (Boyer) Gross and the late James Bernard Lunger.
While attending Liberty HS, and also at the Northwest Swimming Club, Bethlehem, he was a champion diver.
He was in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973 during the Vietnam era.
He was the head custodian for the Bethlehem Area School District.
Shirley A. Lindgren, 77, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 22, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill. Born in Mesa, Ariz., she was a daughter of the late Merlin O. and Josephine (Haley) Tryon.
She was the wife of J. Ralph Lindgren for 53 years. She attended Brigham Young University and Lake Forest College, Chicago.
She was an executive secretary for Easter Seals, retiring in 1997. She was a Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) board member from 1981-1985.
Mildred H. Wilcox, 80, formerly of Bethlehem Township and a resident of Alexandria Manor, Bath, died Aug. 12, 2012. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Yurko) Farkas. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Wilcox for 55 years.
She was a secretary at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
She is survived by three sons, Timothy R. of Palmer Township, Mark S. of Bethlehem Township and Terry L. of Pleasant Gap; and four grandchildren.
