Fraud

A resident in the 1400 block of East Susquehanna Street reported 4 p.m. Nov. 3 being scammed out of $1,800 by a software company to fix a computer remotely.

A business owner in the 1100 block of Bell Avenue said an unknown actor cashed two checks valued at $2,500 each in Florida from the business checking account. Police were notified 1:23 p.m. Nov. 3.

Police were called to the 1200 block of South Cedar Crest Boulevard 10:49 a.m. Nov. 3 for a disturbance.

A resident in the 400 block of Rock Cliff Road reported damage to a door on the property 11:05 a.m. Nov. 4.

DUI

Trevor Elliot Dennie, 62, of Wescosville, was taken into custody and charged with allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and related offenses after a traffic stop for running a red light along Chestnut Street, north of Cedar Crest Boulevard, in Emmaus borough 10:50 p.m. Oct. 23. Charges were filed.

Aaron Loren Mitchell, 25, of Santa Fe, N.M., was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop on the Millcreek Spur at Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 2:27 a.m. Oct. 12. Charges were filed.

Attempted theft

A resident in the 1100 block of Meadowbrook Circle reported 5:19 p.m. Oct. 20 an unknown actor went through a vehicle on the property. Nothing was taken.

A resident in the 2800 block of Edgemont Drive reported 1:40 p.m. Oct. 20 an unknown actor went through a vehicle on the property. Nothing was taken.

A resident in the 1000 block of Louise Lane reported 8 a.m. Oct. 20 an unknown actor went through a vehicle on the property. Nothing was taken.

Retail theft

An unidentified male removed two Polo shirts valued at $98.50 each from Bon-Ton, 3300 Lehigh St. 5:06 p.m. Sept. 23. The male placed the two shirts into a Macy’s bag and ran out of the store. Police are investigating.

Belinda Stangherlin, 58, of Allentown, received a summary citation for retail theft after an alleged incident at 1240 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. 10:15 a.m. Sept. 28. She was taken to Central Booking for processing.

DUI

Robert Earl Johnson, 45, of Breinigsville, was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop for allegedly speeding on Interstate 78 west at mile marker 56.0 10:49 p.m. Aug. 31. Charges were filed.

Reported by a 35-year-old man, of Easton, unknown actors in a black Honda CR-V with New York license plates threw what seemed to be loose change from their vehicle, striking the Easton man’s vehicle following a road rage incident along Interstate 78 at mile marker 59 about Aug. 17.

Officer charged

A city police officer is charged with indecent exposure following two alleged incidents investigated by state police.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin’s office released a statement Friday indicating Glenn Curtis Woolard, 35, of Lower Macungie Township, was observed on Sept. 27 and again Oct. 5 in separate locations masturbating in his car.

Both times, in the Lower Macungie Target parking lot and on Hamilton Boulevard respectively, he was seen by a female driver.

Woolard is married and a Army veteran who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Emmaus priest charged with sexual abuse of children and other charges

The Lehigh County District Attorney’s office announced Sept. 13 Msgr. John Stephen Mraz, 66, formerly of 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus and now residing at Holy Family Villa for Priests, Bethlehem, has been charged with sexual abuse of children and criminal use of communication facility, both felonies of the third degree; and obscene and other sexual materials and performances, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Lower Macungie woman dies from a gunshot wound

The Lehigh County Coroner has identified a woman found shot outside a residence early Sept. 13.

Stephanie Roof, 46, of 6409 Pine Crest Lane, was pronounced dead at 2:05 a.m. in Lehigh Valley Health Network, Cedar Crest campus, Salisbury Township, according to a press release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center Sept. 14.

An autopsy found Roof suffered a gunshot wound to the body.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott M. Grim ruled the manner of Roof’s death a homicide.
