A 49-year-old male, of Emmaus, was injured Aug. 8 when he accidentally discharged his firearm while on his way to the range, according to authorities. Pennsylvania State Police responded to State Route 100, Lower Milford Township, 4:25 p.m., to a call from an individual who indicated he had an accident. The man injured his left leg, according to police. He was transported by Macungie EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment.
A 21-year-old male from Catasauqua, became agitated and hostile while a patient at Smile Krafters, 1247 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., 10:44 a.m. Aug. 3 when staff could not provide the services he wanted. Upon leaving the practice, he allegedly punched a wall between the two elevators. The incident is under investigation.
A resident in the 100 block of Pine Street reported 11:33 p.m. Aug. 7, damage to garage doors. The residents heard loud bangs and discovered two large dents in the doors.
Kiheem Abdul Bess, 32, of Reading, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop for allegedly speeding on Interstate 78 westbound at mile marker 55.0, Salisbury Township, 3:11 a.m. July 13. Bess also allegedly was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana at the time of the traffic stop. Bess also was charged with suspicion of use or possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license and other charges, according to court documents.
Police were called to Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest 9:30 p.m. July 20 for the report of a patient with drugs. The patient allegedly attempted to smoke a small amount of marijuana for pain.
Andrew Keyser, 25, of Coplay, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 8:15 a.m. July 20 at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest. Police say three packets of white powder allegedly fell out of Keyser’s socks. The powder tested positive for heroin.
Three residents of Bronx, N.Y., face charges under the Pennsylvania Controlled Substance, Drug, Device And Cosmetic Act after they were allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana along Interstate 78 westbound at mile marker 59.2, 3:12 a.m. July 22. Giovanny Rahonel Ripley, 22, was charged with suspicion of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use.
A resident in the 1300 block of Lehigh Avenue reported 8:35 a.m. July 14 an unknown person spray painted a truck parked on the property.
A resident in the 1300 block of Brook Avenue reported 11:25 a.m. July 14 an unknown person vandalized a home with spray paint.
A resident in the 1800 block of Little John Lane reported 7:34 a.m. July 14 the theft of a package delivered by Federal Express July 13.
A representative from the power construction company Michels reported damage to work equipment parked in the 900 block of East Rock Road 8:58 a.m. July 14.
Police arrested Wayne Supeck, 57, of 1431 Monocacy St., on drug charges June 14.
According to police, Supeck was under surveillance and was apprehended without incident when he returned to his home.
Serving a warrant, officers entered the residence and found almost 200 packets containing heroin, approximately four grams of methamphetamine, two ounces of marijuana, several digital scales and over 600 unused packets. Detectives also seized approximately $2,000 in cash.
Police said a nurse was stabbed around 9:30 p.m. June 30 at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Muhlenberg.
A hospital spokesman said the male nurse was listed in stable condition the following day.
Police Chief Mark DiLuzio said the suspect fled but was arrested nearby within 10 minutes. Nineteen-year-old Joshua Rafael Santos was charged in Lehigh County with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and simple assault.
Santos was taken to Lehigh County prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Jacqueline Rivera- Figueroa, 30, of Coopersburg, faces assault and other charges after she allegedly shot a Coopersburg man at a residence in the 1400 block of Limeport Pike, Lower Milford Township, 8:09 a.m. May 29. According to police, the 34-year-old male was shot and taken to Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest with life threatening injuries. A 6-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were in the same room at the time of the shooting.
Craig Gerhard, 33, of Coopersburg, was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop along Interstate 78, 8:47 p.m. June 22. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.
A 20-year-old male, of Bethlehem and a 20-year-old male of Allentown, were cited for disorderly conduct following a police stop 10:25 p.m. June 22 along Melrose Lane.
A visitor to Sheffield Square Apartments reported a Galaxy S5 phone and a driver’s license were removed from an unlocked car 4:55 p.m. June 22.
