Two persons charged with animal cruelty and neglect

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin announced Nov. 2 two persons have been charged with animal cruelty and neglect.

Melanie Rehrig, 33 and Jason Wieder, 39, both of the 900 block of Hillcrest Drive South, Macungie, are both charged with five counts of alleged aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony of the third degree; six counts of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor of the second degree; six counts of neglect of animals, a misdemeanor of the third degree and 86 counts of neglect of animals, a summary offense, according to a media release from the district attorney’s office.

A 28-year-old woman allegedly entered the East Morton Street Pantry One Oct. 14 and attacked someone with a knife.

Police said around 4:40 a.m. LisMarie Diaz-Rodriguez, of Evans Street, began throwing food items and then slashed another person with a knife, causing a minor injury.

Diaz-Rodriguez is charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and aggravated assault.

Police cited four people while intervening with an allegedly intoxicated man in the 500 block of Main Street around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 14.

Police said they were taking into custody 27-year-old Roberto Vadillo, of South West Street in Allentown, for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, when he resisted arrest and a confrontation ensued.

Twenty-five-year-old Andrea Penagos of North Third Street in Whitehall, Vadillo’s friend, allegedly interfered in his arrest, and is charged with public drunkenness, obstruction and disorderly conduct.

Child missing from Wisconsin

MISSING CHILD

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking help in its investigation of a 13-year-old girl missing from Wisconsin since Oct. 15.

Jayme Closs is considered endangered.

According to a media release from the Philadelphia division of the FBI, a 911 call was received 12:53 a.m. from Barron, Wis. Responding law enforcement officials found two deceased adults and their daughter, Jayme Closs, missing.

Closs is described as about 100 pounds and 5 feet tall with green eyes and blonde or strawberry blonde hair.

Police arrested Timothy Rollins, 29, of Michael Street, for allegedly attacking his girlfriend around 3:30 a.m. Oct. 18.

According to police, Rollins attacked the woman and grabbed her by the neck, strangling her several times.

Rollins is charged with harassment, strangulation, and simple and aggravated assault.
